Club development plan

CLUB DEVELOPMENT PLAN

A Club Development Plan outlines the future vision for the club. It details the club’s goals, the steps to achieve them, and the timeline for doing so.

Keep the document short, simple, and clear to ensure it’s easy to read.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

A development plan helps maintain focus. In the busy day-to-day running of a club, it’s easy to lose sight of long-term goals. The plan can communicate your future objectives to all members, gaining their support and alignment.

Additionally, development plans are often required for larger grant applications.

WHAT TO DO AFTER IT’S WRITTEN?

Once written, regularly monitoring, reviewing, and updating the plan as your club grows and evolves will be important.

Including the plan as an agenda item at your AGM will be beneficial, as you can update members on plans and changes. This is an ideal opportunity for members to be a part of the club progress and provide feedback.

Consider also drafting a business plan or a Club Strategic Plan for more comprehensive planning.
