Esports Wales – Ambassador

The Volunteer Community Ambassador represents Esports Wales within local communities, online spaces, educational settings, and events. Ambassadors help promote esports participation, encourage community engagement, support organisational activities, and act as positive role models for players and participants. The role focuses on community outreach, promotion, inclusion, and helping people connect with opportunities offered by Esports Wales.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Promote Esports Wales activities, competitions, events, programmes, and opportunities within local communities and online platforms.  

• Act as a welcoming and positive point of contact for players, volunteers, clubs, schools, and community members.  

• Support community engagement initiatives, campaigns, events, networking activities, and outreach programmes.  

• Encourage participation in esports activities and help signpost individuals to relevant programmes, competitions, educational opportunities, and community resources.  

• Assist with the delivery of community events, watch parties, grassroots activities, exhibitions, and promotional opportunities.  

• Gather feedback, insights, and suggestions from community members and share these with Esports Wales to support organisational development.  

• Champion inclusion, accessibility, diversity, and positive community values throughout all engagement activities.  

• Support the development of positive relationships between Esports Wales and local clubs, schools, colleges, universities, youth groups, and community partners. 

• Help raise awareness of esports as a positive activity that promotes learning, skills development, wellbeing, volunteering, and community connection. 

Safeguarding & Compliance 

• Immediately report safeguarding concerns to the Community Manager or Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and never investigate concerns independently.  

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and act as a positive role model at all times.  

• Follow all safeguarding, volunteer, equality, diversity, inclusion, and organisational policies.  

• Ensure all interactions are respectful, inclusive, safe, and welcoming.  

• Never present themselves as a safeguarding officer, welfare officer, or authorised organisational spokesperson unless specifically delegated to do so.

Desirable Skills & Experience 

• Experience within esports, gaming communities, youth activities, education, volunteering, or community projects. 

• Experience using social media, Discord, or community engagement platforms. 

• Public speaking, event support, or promotional experience. 

• Welsh language skills. 

• Experience supporting clubs, schools, or grassroots initiatives.
