The International Esports Federation (IESF) today announced an agreement with Nielsen, a global leader in audience insights, data, and analytics, to provide invaluable insights on the global esports landscape and events.
Nielsen will review, analyze and verify data collected during the upcoming World Esports Championships Finals in Bali, Indonesia. The data collected will identify areas of growth for IESF and the World Esports Family to achieve a united ecosystem for the proper development of gaming worldwide.
IESF Secretary General Boban Totovski said: “IESF is proud and excited to work with Nielsen to ensure cutting-edge data analytics at this year’s WE Championships Finals. This is the perfect opportunity to build a strong foundation of real data and value with regard to our events and esports more broadly. We have no doubt the insights collected from our largest event will help identify future opportunities for growth so that, ultimately, we can bring esports to even more people worldwide.”
APAC MD Nielsen Sport Mike Wragg said: “At Nielsen, we have been measuring major esports events around the world for more than five years. We pride ourselves on our independent and robust methodology, which has benefitted many major buyers and sellers of sponsorship over the years. The WE Championships Finals is a further opportunity to provide valuable and actionable insights and we hope that by working with IESF on this, we can help contribute to the future development and expansion of Esports across the world.”
The World Esports Family will come together in Bali on December 2 when the highly anticipated Finals of the WE Championships get underway. The competition follows the incredible success of the IESF regional qualifiers. It will feature a record 106 nations competing across six titles – CS: GO, Dota 2, Tekken 7, eFootball, PUBG Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
