Esports Wales supports a range of recognised education pathways delivered in Wales. These qualifications are aligned with national education frameworks and help learners build clear progression routes into further education, higher education and future opportunities within the esports industry.

Esports Wales is not an awarding body and does not approve individual centres. The qualifications listed below are those that Esports Wales currently recognises and supports as suitable pathways for esports education in Wales. This may include certificates, short courses, training programmes and individual units.

Delivered by: online short course delivered by Schools and Further Education colleges across Wales. Written by Esports Wales, it provides baseline knowledge for people working in the industry.

Agored Cymru Creative Media and Production Technologies (Esports Pathway)

Levels: 3

Delivered by: Schools and Further Education colleges in Wales
The Agored Cymru Creative Media and Production Technologies qualifications offer a distinctive Welsh-developed pathway that includes an Esports strand, designed for learners with a passion for the creative and production dimensions of esports — including broadcast, content creation, event production, and community management.

The qualifications are developed in partnership with Welsh schools and colleges and aligned with national education frameworks.

UAL Diploma in Esports (Creative Pathway)

Levels: 2 and 3
 
Delivered by: Selected Further Education providers
The UAL Esports pathway supports learners interested in the creative and production aspects of esports, including content creation, media, event delivery, and creative industries. These qualifications are typically offered where esports aligns closely with creative education.

The Foundation Degree in Esports represents the highest consistently delivered esports qualification currently available in Wales. It provides a higher‑education pathway focused on industry practice, professional skills, and applied learning.
