Finding and keeping committee or board members is a vital but demanding task for esports clubs.
A club should always look for ways to develop and enhance its committee. How are you currently supporting your members? Do they need any training?
It can be beneficial to review the roles of your committee members, especially if one person is shouldering a lot of the work while others are willing to take on more responsibility.
Committee members often juggle multiple roles – some may coach in addition to their committee duties. To prevent anyone from feeling overburdened, consider whether responsibilities could be better distributed. Is the workload reasonable for one person? Do you need an extra committee member to share some of the tasks?
Consider whether your organization wants (and has the constitutional authority) to pay committee members for their roles, instead of relying on volunteers.
Carefully think about the implications of paying board members, both for the club and for the roles and responsibilities of the individual committee members.
