Esports Wales Announces National Teams for 2023 Competitions

Esports is on the rise in Wales, with more and more players and fans getting involved in the competitive gaming scene. With the start of a new year comes new opportunities for Welsh esports players to showcase their skills on the international stage. Esports Wales is proud to announce the selection of its national teams for the 2023 competitions.

CSGO Open

The CSGO Open team will be representing Wales in the Road to World Championship and hopefully qualify for the Finals in Iasi, Romania. The team is composed of Emyr, Ping, Mog, Kyzer, Trouzzyy, Walli, and Ollie. 5 of the roster headed to the world championships last year in Bali where they managed to get to the top 16 in the world. They will be coached by Stator, a veteran in the esports scene.

CSGO Women’s

The CSGO Women’s team is aiming to qualify for Iasi, Romania, to compete against the world’s best female players in the Road to World Championship Grand Finals. The team includes mehlody, olivia, Bethan, GKenise, NadiaRoxz, Vyvyan, and ObiDogei. Stator will also coach this team.

Efootball Open 

CerithDennis will be representing Wales in the Road to World Championship Grand Finals in Iasi, Romania, and the home nations. CerithDennis is known for their tactical prowess and will be a strong competitor in both events.

 Efootball Women’s

Georgiapeplow_ will be representing Wales in the Efootball Women’s home nationas competition. With a strong understanding of the game and exceptional skills, Georgiapeplow_ is sure to make Wales proud.

Dota 2 Open

The Dota 2 Open team team will also be looking to qualify for Iasi, Romania, to compete in the Road to World Championship Grand Finals. The team includes Neb, Iggy, Tyrox, Wax, and Wishy.

The core of the team Iggy, Neb and Tyrox were in the 2022 squad playing in the Commonwealth Championship. 

They will be coached by Canal Guy, a seasoned Dota 2 coach.

Tekken 7 Open

Jevs will be representing Wales in the Tekken 7 Open competition in the Road to World Championship Grand Finals in Iasi, Romania. Jevs is known for their exceptional skills and fighting spirit who represented Wales in Baku in 2022

Rocket League Open

The Rocket League Open team includes Breezi, Tadpole, Foxy, Luke, Ell, and Bentzi. They will be representing Wales in a number of competitions throughout the year. The same main roster that took Gold at the Commonwealth Esports Championships and will be coached by Codie.
