New Gaming room at Merthyr College
Posted by May 15, 2019 in COLLEGEIt is brilliant to see all the publicity and media coverage surrounding the new Gaming Suite at Merthyr Tydfil College. As you may be aware the new Esports/gaming suite has been created to deliver the new Level 3 Creative Media Production (Games Design and Development) course. The project has been supported by the Skills Priorities Programme funded by the Welsh Government.
It was a great opportunity for Esports Wales to get involved with and help promote and grow the gaming scene in Wales. We can’t wait to get involved with more projects like this and look forward to working again with the likes of bof, scan.co.uk, noble chairs, corsair and the college Merthyr Tydfil.
LEVEL 3 Creative Media Production (Games Design and Development)
Duration:
Full-time 2 years
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This UAL level 3 course has been designed to equip students with the necessary skills to prepare them for entry into the games design and development sector. The course has been designed to help with progression to courses such as games design, animation and graphic design, allowing students the opportunity to develop a portfolio throughout their studies of both design and development work. Throughout the course you will learn the fundamentals of good games design, as well as interacting with industry standard design and development software.

· Introduction to design and research skills
· Professional Practice
· Contextual awareness in creative media
· Audio production and technology
· Visual production and technology
· Interactive production
· Developing a creative media project.
