The new pathway into content creation

Posted by Esports Wales ON March 27, 2025 in Esports

In true gamer fashion, we are aligning with the meta when it comes to the live streaming and content creation landscape. We are announcing the launch of the Esports Wales Content Creation team that takes the previous Stream Team and expands upon it to align more with our views on modern approaches to build a following in the space across various social media platforms, whilst also opening the doors to assist and develop post-production video-based content on platforms with incredible discoverability!

The reason behind this update is due to our observations of the industry and analysing some of the most recent success stories of creators rising to the top! It’s common knowledge at this point for veterans and budding streamers alike that regardless of the platform you stream on, including the biggest being Twitch, the discoverability on these live streaming websites is minimal at best where often a better approach is to network yourself through participating in various communities and collaborations. In fact, Twitch themselves evidently believe in this notion because they have added tools to their website for streamers to take the highlights of their stream, and post them on other social media sites in effort to aid creators in getting discovered and immersing new audiences in their content!

Yet what inspired this industry-wide change to the point that the live-streaming platforms are encouraging creators to post on other social channels? If you follow the content creation niche as closely as we have, you’d know that this didn’t come out of nowhere; there have been two rising stars that have really solidified the success of utilizing platforms with significantly higher discoverability in both short-form and long-form video content, and that is CaseOh and Jynxzi! These two have taken the internet by storm having several clips go viral on the likes of TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, yet they have this familiarity to them that makes them seem more relatable than most creators we’ve had over the years. With humble origins of just playing games of their interest and being inspired by some of the top content creators we also grew up with, a lot of people can describe seeing themselves in these two creators.

CaseOh went live to nearly 100 people in some of his first live streams on Twitch, but this wasn’t by accident, he capitalized on popular games and trends whilst being on a discoverable platform, in this case TikTok! He went live on TikTok streaming NBA 2K and posted the clips from his stream on the same account netting 30 million views across 3 videos and gained 10,000 followers from doing so. He used this same approach when it came to any game he transitioned to, and swiftly moved into a position of a variety streamer on Twitch amassing a following of 8,000,000 followers in a 2-year span. Jynxzi on the other hand had taken a different approach, being a console player and streamer he went live to an average of 2 people for an entire year playing primarily Rainbow Six Siege, he tried flexing into different trends but nothing came to be, until more than a year later where he started uploading long-form content on YouTube making compilations and guide format content for Rainbow Six, and then breaking down this content into short-form and posting on TikTok. Here he started to find success for his passion and personality for the game, steadily climbing to a peak viewership of 1000 viewers by the end of that second year. The rest from there is history, he found his own personal recipe for success rising to 7,000,000 followers, just like his peer in CaseOh, and the pair of them have risen to be the face of a new age of content creation!

However, those with a keen eye would notice that the key ingredient to the success of both of these creators, and for most that have managed to stay relevant or diversify their content to retain viewership is that they deploy a specific strategy and plan their content around the end format, whether that’s long-form or short-form content on the likes of YouTube or TikTok etc, positioning yourself on these platforms and consistently doing so provides you with the opportunity, that chance for things to take off.

In our Esports Wales Content Creation team, we break down the methods of success for specific creators and help you develop your personal brand and content to strive for the same thing! In our previous Stream Team, we had 3 tiers of consistent and clear progression in order to level-up your personal streaming journey, we have now simplified this process down to 2 tiers; the first being the Creator Academy where creators just starting out or veterans returning will have the opportunity to access resources and industry professional workshops in efforts to refine your branding and content to provide value to your audience, with plenty of opportunities to network and collaborate with other Welsh creators! The second and highest tier is then our premier Partnered Creators, these creators being the beacon of Welsh talent and the leaders that serve as an example for others to pursue are the creators we will work with when it comes to partnerships, events, and direct one-to-one mentoring with our development team to take you and your content to an international stage!
