Staff Introduction – JakeyBoyPro

Posted by John Jackson May 6, 2019 in COMMUNITY
Today we sat down with JakeyBoyPro aka Jake Christopher Murton.
What is your gamer tag and how did you get the name?
JakeyBoyPro – A few years ago, I randomly decided on this name as I was constantly switching between a few different nicknames which I could decide on and eventually one of my friends called me Jakeyboy during a game of CSGO and it just kind of stuck.

What age did you start playing games and what’s the first game you remember playing?
Now, this is a hard question to answer, as early as I can remember I was introduced to video games, the earliest memory I have of video games was playing the original Sonic game back on the Sega Megadrive.
What made you decide to pursue a role in Esports?

I fell in love with Esports back in 2016 when I followed underdogs Luminosity Gaming (now MiBr) throughout the entirety of MLG Columbus to victories in which they came back from many deficits to eventually lift the trophy and win a further 2 majors, this ignited the fire in my heart for Esports.

What’s your all time favourite game?

Fallout: New Vegas as this is the first game that I buried many hours into.

What is a typical day like for you?
I spend 7 hours a day working in my job which I love thoroughly and enjoy doing day in/day out. I cycle to and from work and find that really peaceful and if I feel up to it, I’ll try and cycle as far as possible. Once I get home, I have a nice meal and then sit down watch some videos and then check the Esports Wales discord and see if there are any games happening!
What do you like to do when you aren’t gaming or working in gaming?

I thoroughly enjoy my job, so I’m constantly watching videos to expand my knowledge and further my learning within my job. I enjoy cycling and trying to further and improve my best times on the routes in which I enjoy cycling on.

Can you give any advice to anyone looking to start working in the Esports industry?

Just get yourself active within Esports communities and show that you’re keen and want to learn and grow your knowledge within the Esports industry.

Any shout-outs?
