Esports Wales is committed to ensuring that all competitions are held in a fair and clean environment, free from the influence of performance-enhancing drugs. In line with the principles of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and UK anti-doping standards, this Anti-Doping Code sets forth the expectations and responsibilities for all participants in Esports Wales events.
Esports Wales strictly prohibits the use of any banned substances or methods that could enhance performance in esports competitions. This includes, but is not limited to:
Stimulants: Substances that artificially increase alertness, energy, or focus, which may provide an unfair advantage.
Drugs of Abuse: Any substance that is used recreationally to alter mood, perception, or performance and could impair judgment, coordination, or reaction time.
Performance-Enhancing Substances: Any substance that provides an advantage by improving cognitive or physical capabilities, including but not limited to nootropics, cognitive enhancers, or any similar substances.
All participants, including players, coaches, team staff, and officials, must comply with all anti-doping regulations set forth by Esports Wales, the ESIC, and relevant anti-doping authorities. This includes adherence to testing procedures, the list of banned substances, and ensuring that no banned substances are used before or during events.
Esports Wales may conduct random, unannounced anti-doping tests during or after any competition, and participants must submit to these tests when requested. Testing procedures will align with established best practices to ensure fairness, transparency, and the integrity of the competition.
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that no banned substances are ingested or used in any form before or during Esports Wales events. Players and staff must be fully aware of what constitutes a prohibited substance, even if obtained through over-the-counter or prescription means. It is also the responsibility of participants to check any substance or medication they wish to use with Esports Wales or an anti-doping body before its consumption.
Any participant found to be in violation of the Anti-Doping Code will face appropriate sanctions, which may include disqualification from current and future competitions, suspension from Esports Wales activities, and potential reporting to relevant anti-doping authorities. In cases of severe violation, participants may face permanent bans from Esports Wales events.
Esports Wales is dedicated to promoting education and awareness about the dangers of doping in esports. We will provide regular training and resources to players, coaches, and staff on the importance of clean competition and the risks associated with doping.
By adhering to this Anti-Doping Code, we ensure that Esports Wales remains a fair and competitive platform where players can showcase their skills without the unfair influence of performance-enhancing substances.
